BayWa r.e. Nordic has announced that David Rosberg, currently serving as Head of Finance for the Nordics, will take over as CEO starting February 1, 2025. Rosberg, who has an extensive background in the wind energy sector, brings significant experience in finance, leadership, and corporate strategy to the position.
In a statement, Rosberg expressed both enthusiasm and humility about the new role, emphasizing his eagerness to build on the company’s achievements alongside its dedicated team. He highlighted the immense opportunities within the Swedish and Finnish markets for wind and solar power, as well as battery storage systems (BESS), while acknowledging the challenges inherent in the industry. However, he pointed to the extraordinary demand for renewable energy solutions as a driving force for the company’s continued success.
Rosberg will succeed Maria Röske, who will step down as CEO at the end of January 2025 to pursue a new venture outside the wind energy industry. Röske’s leadership saw BayWa r.e. Nordic expand its presence in Sweden and Finland, growing the team from 14 to 40 members and surpassing 2,000 MW in its project portfolio through strategic lease and permit acquisitions. Her contributions have laid a strong foundation for the company’s next chapter under Rosberg’s guidance.
