SambaNova on Strategic Partnership in Turkey
Rodrigo Liang, CEO and co-founder of U.S.-based AI chip startup SambaNova, has indicated that the company is preparing to unveil an upcoming collaboration in Turkey.
During his appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Liang shared insights with business news outlet Bloomberg HT, highlighting SambaNova’s commitment to enhancing energy efficiency and performance in artificial intelligence.
He pointed out that AI demands substantial energy consumption, and the company is dedicated to tackling this challenge. Liang explained that their goal is to achieve a tenfold increase in performance while simultaneously cutting costs by the same margin. He further noted that their current efforts are centered on boosting processing speed while minimizing power consumption, which requires a completely new architectural approach. According to him, if these objectives are met, AI could be utilized in an exceptionally efficient and powerful manner.
Liang also hinted at the forthcoming partnership in Turkey, describing it as an exciting development that the company plans to announce soon.
SambaNova, established in November 2017 in Palo Alto, California, is a leading player in developing advanced AI systems platforms designed for deployment across data centers, the cloud, and edge environments.
The company has secured investment from a distinguished group of backers, including SoftBank Vision Fund 2, BlackRock-managed funds and accounts, Intel Capital, GV, Walden International, Temasek, GIC, Redline Capital, Atlantic Bridge Ventures, WRVI Capital, and others.
