Joydeep Goswami Appointed CEO of LGC: A Visionary Leader for a New Chapter
LGC, a UK-based global leader in life sciences measurement and tools, has announced Joydeep Goswami as its new president and CEO. He succeeds Euan O’Sullivan, who stepped down in early 2024 after 14 years of service to the organization.
With over 25 years of international experience, Goswami brings a strong background in life sciences tools, along with expertise in strategy development, product innovation, partnerships, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions. His roles as a profit-and-loss leader and CFO have equipped him with a holistic understanding of customer, employee, and investor needs, enabling him to craft strategies and allocate resources effectively for sustainable growth.
Prior to joining LGC, Goswami held senior positions at Illumina, where he served as CFO and Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer. Before that, he spent 16 years at Thermo Fisher Scientific, holding various global leadership roles, including heading the Clinical Next Generation Sequencing and Oncology Division. He also serves on the board of Biolife Solutions, further reflecting his deep industry expertise.
David King, non-executive chair of LGC, remarked that Goswami’s broad international experience and proven track record in business transformation make him an ideal fit for the organization. King highlighted Goswami’s commitment to LGC’s mission and values, alongside his ability to drive performance and deliver value to customers, employees, and shareholders.
This leadership change marks a significant moment for LGC as it continues its mission to advance the life sciences sector globally.
