Christoph Debus Takes the Helm at DERTOUR Group, Marking a New Era in Tourism Leadership
Beginning March 1, 2025, Christoph Debus will assume the position of CEO at DERTOUR Group, an international tourism powerhouse employing over 10,000 professionals. In his new capacity, Debus will chair the Executive Board alongside Dr. Ingo Burmester (CEO of Central Europe), Patrick Lambertz (Group CFO), and Leif Vase Larsen (CEO of International).
Simultaneously, Debus will join REWE Group’s extended Management Board as Divisional Director for Tourism. This role aligns with other strategic business units under REWE Group, such as PENNY, Lekkerland, and toom. Reporting directly to REWE Group CEO Lionel Souque, his appointment underscores the significant role of the tourism division within the group and reinforces its operational and strategic initiatives.
With a career spanning over three decades, Christoph Debus has amassed extensive expertise in the travel and mobility sectors. Before this role, he served as Group CFO of Flix SE starting in 2022. His professional journey includes positions as CFO at Condor Flugdienst GmbH, CCO and COO at Air Berlin, CEO of Thomas Cook PLC Group Airlines, and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Serviceware SE. After three years leading Condor Airline Group, he transitioned to Flix SE in 2022.
REWE Group CEO Lionel Souque expressed confidence in Debus’s leadership, describing him as an “exceptionally dynamic and strategic international leader.” Souque highlighted the pivotal role Debus will play in advancing the tourism division’s ambitious goals, strengthening DERTOUR Group’s successful trajectory, and driving growth in close collaboration with the executive team.
DERTOUR Group, the travel and tourism division of REWE Group, operates across 16 European countries with over 130 companies under its umbrella. This appointment marks a significant step in reinforcing its strategic importance within REWE Group’s diverse portfolio.
