Leadership Changes at Magyar Telekom with New CFO and CTO Appointed for 2025
Magyar Telekom has announced key leadership transitions, with Chief Financial Officer and Board Member Daria Dodonova set to depart when her contract expires. Lubor Zatko, the company’s Chief Technology and IT Officer, will also be stepping into a new role within the Deutsche Telekom Group. André Lenz will succeed Dodonova as CFO starting March 1, 2025, while Péter Nagy will take over as Chief Technology and IT Officer from January 1, 2025.
Departure of Daria Dodonova and the Arrival of André Lenz
Dodonova will conclude her tenure at Magyar Telekom on February 28, 2025, after nearly 25 years with the Deutsche Telekom Group. Since joining Magyar Telekom in 2020, she has focused on enhancing financial performance, driving strategy, managing risk, and boosting market capitalization.
Her successor, André Lenz, will assume the CFO role on March 1, 2025. Lenz, currently part of Group Controlling at Deutsche Telekom, brings more than 20 years of experience in finance across Germany and Austria. He has held leadership roles in sales controlling, planning, reporting, and business controlling. Lenz holds an economics degree from Ruhr University in Germany and is expected to leverage his extensive expertise to drive Magyar Telekom’s financial strategy.
Lubor Zatko’s Transition and Péter Nagy’s Appointment
Lubor Zatko, who has served as Chief Technology and IT Officer since October 2019, will leave Magyar Telekom in January 2025 for a new role within Deutsche Telekom. During his tenure, Zatko spearheaded critical initiatives, including agile transformations, network modernization, and IT architecture enhancements. His efforts significantly strengthened Magyar Telekom’s role in advancing digital infrastructure in Hungary.
Péter Nagy will succeed Zatko on January 1, 2025. Nagy, currently leading the Service Management and Field Operations Tribe, has 20 years of professional experience and 15 years in managerial roles. Before joining Magyar Telekom in 2020, he held positions at IBM Global Services Hungary, Lufthansa Systems, and Unisys Global Services in Hungary. In his new role, Nagy will focus on accelerating digital transformation, expanding 5G coverage, advancing IT transformation, and increasing the number of gigabit-capable access points on the company’s fixed network.
These leadership changes reflect Magyar Telekom’s ongoing commitment to innovation and strengthening its position in Hungary’s telecommunications sector.
