Jyske Realkredit Announces Leadership Changes Ahead of 2025 Transition

Jyske Realkredit revealed a major shift in its executive team on Friday, announcing that CEO Carsten Tirsbæk Madsen will retire in the second quarter of 2025. Madsen’s departure will conclude a notable 34-year career at the company, which began with BRFkredit in 1990. Over the years, Madsen has been a central figure at Jyske Realkredit, serving as CEO since 2014 and holding significant positions in mortgage banking associations.

The company has designated Anders Lund Hansen, a veteran of Jyske Realkredit with 16 years of experience, as Madsen’s successor. Hansen, who joined the Executive Board in June 2023, has a solid background in balance management and has held numerous roles related to investment and trading within the company. He is expected to take over as CEO in the second quarter of 2025.

In addition, the Supervisory Board has announced that Lisbeth Arentzen will join the Executive Board starting June 1, 2025. Arentzen, who is currently in a senior position within Jyske Bank’s credit division, brings over 20 years of experience at Jyske Bank and more than 30 years in the financial sector, with a strong track record in credit management.

Niels Erik Jakobsen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, expressed appreciation for Madsen’s long-standing commitment to the company, emphasizing his advocacy for the Danish mortgage model and his role in the merger with Jyske Bank. Jakobsen also voiced confidence in Hansen’s leadership capabilities, highlighting his market expertise and solid reputation within the organization. He noted that Arentzen’s extensive credit background would be a valuable asset to the Executive Board.

Once Hansen steps into the CEO role, the new Executive Board of Jyske Realkredit will consist of Anders Lund Hansen as CEO, Lisbeth Arentzen as Director, and Torben Hansen continuing as Director. The leadership transition has been communicated through the company’s corporate channels, keeping stakeholders informed of the upcoming changes in executive management.
