Leadership Transition at DBS Bank India: Surojit Shome to Retire
DBS Bank India’s Managing Director and CEO, Surojit Shome, is set to retire on February 28, 2025. The bank, which has maintained a presence in India for three decades, first established an office in Mumbai in 1994.
After a notable tenure leading DBS Bank India since April 2015, Shome had previously expressed his intention to retire. He collaborated with the DBS Bank India board and DBS Group’s management to explore potential candidates for his successor. The bank is currently awaiting approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the chosen candidate, and a formal announcement will follow once regulatory clearance is secured.
