Bayern Extends CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen’s Tenure Through 2027
Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has secured a contract extension, extending his role with the club until 2027. The Bundesliga club announced on Monday evening that the 57-year-old’s contract, originally set to conclude in 2025, would be prolonged.
Reflecting on Dreesen’s leadership, FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer remarked that Dreesen had taken over as CEO during challenging times in 2023 following Oliver Kahn’s departure and had effectively guided Bayern Munich back to stability. Hainer added that the club was confident Dreesen was the right leader to face future challenges alongside board members Michael Diederich and Max Eberl and to achieve Bayern’s ambitious objectives.
Dreesen expressed his gratitude to the supervisory board for their confidence in his leadership. He shared that Bayern Munich has always held a special place in his heart, and he aims to ensure the club remains among Europe’s elite, both in sporting and business achievements. Dreesen emphasized his commitment to upholding Bayern’s Bavarian heritage and high standards domestically and internationally.
Having joined Bayern in 2013 as chief financial officer, Dreesen became deputy chairman of the executive board the following year, steadily advancing within the organization.
