Singapore Shows Most Optimistic Market Among 29 Countries
Singapore ranks as one of the top three most optimistic markets, according to the June 2024 Ipsos What Worries the World global survey, with 79% optimism. Second is Indonesia, with 70% optimism, and India is closely behind at 69%. In contrast, the survey indicates a widespread sense of pessimism among global citizens regarding their future.
The Global Advisor survey spanned 29 countries and was conducted between May 24, 2024, and June 7, 2024, via the Ipsos Online Panel system. It included 25,520 adults aged 18-74 in Canada, Israel, Malaysia, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States; 20-74 in Indonesia and Thailand; 21-74 in Singapore; and 16-74 in all other nations.
The survey found that only 38% of global citizens believe their country is on the right track. Peru (8%), South Africa (20%), South Korea (21%), and Turkey (21%) reported the lowest levels of optimism among the surveyed nations.
Inflation has emerged as the foremost concern globally, as citizens were most concerned about inflation (33%), crime and violence (30%), poverty and social inequality (29%), unemployment (27%), and financial and political corruption (25%).
