Bank of Singapore Appoints Rickie Chan as Chief Executive of Hong Kong Branch
Bank of Singapore proudly announced the appointment of Rickie Chan as the Chief Executive Officer of its Hong Kong branch. Chan, who also serves as the Head of Private Banking for Greater China in Hong Kong, will take on additional responsibilities in his new role as Chief Executive.
Chan succeeded former Hong Kong CEO, Cindy Wong. Mr. Wong will transition to an advisory role until her retirement on May 31, 2024. In his new position, Chan will oversee risk and governance at the bank’s Hong Kong branch while driving growth initiatives in Greater China, a pivotal region for the Bank of Singapore.
Chan brings to the Bank of Singapore over 28 years of experience. Before joining the bank in February of this year, he served as the chief executive of the Hong Kong branch and head of global wealth management, Greater China at Credit Suisse. He has also participated in senior leadership roles at Barclays and Goldman Sachs.
Jason Moo, CEO of the Bank of Singapore, praised Chan’s leadership qualities and extensive experience, citing his deep knowledge of the Greater China business landscape and regulatory environment as valuable assets for driving the bank’s growth in Hong Kong.
With Greater China being one of Bank of Singapore’s largest markets alongside ASEAN, the company has been strategically expanding its presence. Over the past two years, it has made over 150 new hires and increased its assets under management by 10%. Chan’s appointment reflects the Bank of Singapore’s commitment to strengthening its position as a leading wealth manager in Asia, leveraging the expertise of seasoned industry professionals to drive continued success and innovation in the region.
