Arch Insurance International Names Kirsten Valder as Deputy CEO
Arch Insurance International, a division of Bermuda-based re/insurer Arch Capital Group Ltd., has announced the appointment of Kirsten Valder as its new Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. As Deputy CEO, Valder will be tasked with overseeing the development and evolution of Arch Insurance International’s platforms across various markets, including the London Market, the UK Regional Market, Australia, Bermuda, and the European Union.
Valder, who has been part of the senior leadership team at Arch Insurance International for a decade, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Based in London, she will continue to report to Hugh Sturgess, CEO of Arch Insurance International. Valder’s tenure at Arch Insurance International has been marked by her contributions to various leadership roles, including Chief Claims Officer and, more recently, Chief Administrative Officer, where she oversaw claims, legal, human resources, and compliance functions. Prior to joining Arch, Valder served as a Partner at Kennedys Law LLP, further enriching her expertise in the insurance industry.
Sturgess expressed confidence in Valder’s capabilities, highlighting her instrumental role in the expansion of Arch Insurance International. He emphasized her deep understanding of the organization and her extensive technical and market knowledge as key assets for the role. Valder’s appointment aligns with the company’s growth strategy, aimed at enhancing its market position and delivering greater value to brokers and customers.
