Ranked: The best-selling pharmaceutical products worldwide, 2024

Comirnaty

In 2023, Merck’s cancer drug Keytruda surpassed the COVID-19 vaccine Comirnaty to become the top-selling pharmaceutical product worldwide, generating around $25 billion in revenue. Comirnaty came in second place, with total revenues of $15.3 billion, followed closely by Humira, which generated $14.4 billion in revenue.

Humira is primarily used to treat rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, but it is also used to treat a range of other medical conditions, including Crohn’s disease, ankylosing spondylitis, ulcerative colitis, psoriasis, uveitis, and some other autoimmune diseases. The drug is administered through subcutaneous injections and was first approved by the FDA in 2002.
