On March 21st, Air Samarkand embarked on its maiden scheduled flight, marking a significant milestone in the realm of Uzbekistan’s aviation industry. The airline commenced operations on the coveted Samarkand – Istanbul route, utilizing its state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft.
A New Era of Leadership
Simultaneously, Air Samarkand proudly announced the appointment of Zafar Butaev as its new Chief Executive Officer. Butaev assumes this pivotal role, succeeding Anton Khodiayan, who transitions to the position of Advisor to the airline. Khodiayan will continue his invaluable contributions while resuming his duties as the Director General of Air Marakanda, the esteemed airport management company.
Samarkand to Istanbul: Connecting Cultures and Commerce
The launch of the Samarkand – Istanbul route signifies more than just a flight connection; it symbolizes the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and commercial bonds between Uzbekistan and Turkey. Istanbul, as a pivotal hub, not only bridges these two nations but also offers seamless connectivity to destinations worldwide.
Flight Schedule and Convenience
Passengers can now enjoy the convenience of bi-weekly flights departing from Samarkand International Airport at 8 am arriving in Istanbul at 11:10 am (local time). Return services depart Istanbul at 12:30 pm, touching down in Samarkand at 7:00 pm. With Butaev at the helm and a dedicated team driving its operations, the airline looks forward to soaring to new heights of success and serving as a proud ambassador of Uzbekistan’s aviation prowess.
