The popularity of women’s football has been on the rise, which has led to an increase in transfer fees. Although the amounts are still considerably lower than those seen in men’s football, we can take a look at the most expensive transfers in the history of women’s football. As of March 2024, Racheal Kundananji’s move from Madrid CFF to Bay FC was the most expensive transfer in the history of women’s soccer, with the club from California paying around 685 thousand British pounds. Meanwhile, Kundananji’s Zambia teammate Barbra Banda moved to Orlando Pride for around 581 thousand British pounds in the same year. Meanwhile, Mayra Ramírez’s move to Chelsea ranked third, followed by Keira Walsh, Jill Roord, and Lindsey Horan.
