Euroleague Basketball Leaders Secure Four-Year Extensions Amidst Continued Success

Euroleague Basketball, known for its strategic prowess and visionary leadership, recently announced the extension of Dejan Bodiroga’s and Paulius Motiejunas’s tenures as President and CEO, respectively. The decision comes on the heels of their exceptional performance, particularly in navigating the forthcoming deal with Dubai.

At a meeting convened at Euroleague Basketball headquarters, the ECA Board of Directors unanimously voted to prolong Bodiroga’s and Motiejunas’s appointments for an additional four years each, demonstrating unwavering confidence in their abilities.

Bodiroga assumed the role of Euroleague Basketball President in September 2022 and reaffirmed his dedication to the organization in June 2023. Throughout his tenure, he has spearheaded initiatives aimed at elevating the quality of Euroleague Basketball competitions, fostering stronger ties within the basketball community, and amplifying engagement with stakeholders across various platforms.

Motiejunas, who took the helm as CEO in June 2023 following a successful tenure as President of Zalgiris Kaunas, has been instrumental in rallying stakeholders behind growth strategies, enhancing the overall fan experience, and exploring new avenues for expansion both within Europe and globally.

Together, Bodiroga and Motiejunas have overseen groundbreaking initiatives, including record-breaking digital and television viewership, unprecedented attendance figures at EuroLeague arenas, and fruitful collaborations with basketball stakeholders worldwide.
