Dentsu has appointed Elvira Jakub as the CEO of Dentsu Indonesia, effective immediately. Reporting to Sanjay Bhasin, CEO of Southeast Asia at Dentsu, Elvira brings over 23 years of marketing transformation expertise to her new role, garnered from her extensive experience in the Indonesian market.

Elvira succeeds Prakash Kamdar, who has led Dentsu’s Indonesia business since February 2022. In his new role as CEO of clients and solutions for Southeast Asia, Prakash will focus on accelerating Dentsu’s client portfolio across the Southeast Asia cluster while continuing to serve as the CEO of Dentsu Singapore.

The appointment comes amid Dentsu’s strategic focus on the Southeast Asia cluster, encompassing Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, as announced in 2023.

Prior to joining Dentsu, Elvira served as the head of industry at Google, where she played a pivotal role in driving innovation and transformation for traditional businesses in the automotive and technology/telecommunications sectors, particularly during and post-pandemic periods.

Sanjay Bhasin, CEO of Southeast Asia at Dentsu, expressed confidence in Elvira’s appointment, citing her extensive experience and deep understanding of the Indonesian market. He emphasized the importance of Elvira’s leadership in driving Dentsu Indonesia’s growth amid the current era of economic expansion.

In her remarks, Elvira expressed enthusiasm for her new role and highlighted the need for adaptable, integrated solutions to meet the evolving business goals of clients in Indonesia’s dynamic market. She commended the groundwork laid by Prakash and the entire team at Dentsu Indonesia, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to lead the organization forward.

Prakash Kamdar, in turn, praised the dedication of the Dentsu Indonesia team in supporting the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy and uplifting its communities. He expressed confidence in Elvira’s leadership to take Dentsu Indonesia to new heights.

Sanjay Bhasin also underscored Prakash’s visionary approach in scaling Dentsu’s client experience in Southeast Asia, highlighting his continued involvement with clients in Indonesia.
