SVP and CFO of the University of Akron Dallas Grundy Departs to Join the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
University of Akron Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Dallas Grundy will be departing from the university in March, marking the conclusion of just over three years of dedicated service. Grundy’s tenure at the University of Akron will come to a close as he transitions to assume the role of CFO for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, effective March 25. His final day at the University of Akron is slated for March 15.
President Gary L. Miller has appointed Jill Bautista, the current vice president for operations, to become interim SVP and CFO, effective March 18. The university intends to commence a comprehensive search for a new SVP and CFO.
Miller appointed Grundy to his position in the fall of 2020, entrusting him with the oversight of the university’s substantial $300 million annual budget. Prior to joining the University of Akron, Grundy served as the vice dean and CFO at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
In a statement, Grundy expressed that the decision to depart was not made lightly. While he was not actively seeking to leave Akron, the opportunity to return to his “East Coast roots” and be in proximity to family residing in Philadelphia proved compelling. He conveyed his gratitude to the University of Akron and the Akron community, acknowledging the profound impact they have had on him and his family.
