Todd Foley is the Interim CFO of Kroger as Gary Millerchip Steps Down

Gary Millerchip, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), is stepping down. Millerchip will pursue an executive position at another publicly traded company. In his place, Todd Foley, Group Vice President, Corporate Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer, will assume the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. The company intends to appoint a permanent CFO successor at a later date.

Foley’s tenure at Kroger has been marked by significant contributions, including his role as CFO of Kroger’s Cincinnati/Dayton operating division and his oversight of external and internal financial reporting as Assistant Corporate Controller. Prior to joining Kroger, Foley served as a Senior Audit Manager at PwC and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business. He also serves on the Board of the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation.

Rodney McMullen, Chairman and CEO of Kroger, expressed confidence in Foley’s capabilities, citing his extensive experience with the company spanning over 30 years. Foley has held various key finance roles since joining Kroger in 2001, demonstrating his leadership and contribution to Kroger’s growth and transformation. McMullen praised Foley’s adeptness in advancing Kroger’s value creation model and maintaining a robust financial framework, particularly in preparation for the pending merger with Albertsons.

Foley, in his response, conveyed his excitement about leading Kroger’s finance team during this pivotal juncture. He acknowledged Kroger’s successful go-to-market strategy and expressed his commitment to collaborating with the leadership team to achieve long-term value-creation goals.

McMullen expressed gratitude to Millerchip for his 15 years of service, acknowledging his role in supporting Kroger’s industry leadership and growth initiatives. In turn, Millerchip expressed pride in the accomplishments achieved during his tenure at Kroger and extended his best wishes to the team for continued success.
