Mark Zuckerberg saw his net worth rise by $82.5 billion

Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, experienced significant fluctuations in his wealth rankings in recent years. In 2022, due to the fall of Meta Platform’s stock market, he dropped to 25th place, with a fortune of $44.8 billion. However, after Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, implemented some measures, including cutting costs and redirecting investments towards the metaverse, he regained his financial footing. The market responded positively to these measures, which contributed to Zuckerberg’s rapid ascent up the wealth rankings.

As a result, he rose to sixth place on the list of the world’s richest people, Zuckerberg’s net worth rose from $45.5 billion to $128 billion, a figure that still does not exceed the $141 billion he recorded in September 2021.

In the year 2022, the majority of the world’s wealthiest individuals experienced a decline in their fortunes to varying degrees. However, the year 2023 has proven to be a prosperous one for billionaires, with their wealth increasing by hundreds of millions of dollars, mainly due to strong performances in the stock market, particularly in the technology sector. The combined net worth of the top 500 richest people in the world has surged by a staggering $1.5 trillion this year, which is a remarkable turnaround from the $1.4 trillion decrease suffered by those on last year’s list.
