Former CFO at Visa Payments Becomes Nucleus CFO
Nucleus Financial Platforms Group has appointed Alexander Filshie as its incoming Chief Financial Officer, pending regulatory approval. Effective immediately, Filshie assumes this role from Mike Regan, who transitions, as previously announced, to the position of Chief Commercial Officer. Regan, in turn, succeeds Alex Kovach, who will depart by year-end.
Filshie brings a wealth of board-level CFO experience, showcasing proficiency in M&A endeavors and driving operational transformations. His most recent role was as CFO at Kensington Mortgages, a specialized mortgage lender, where he served for three years. Previously, he held the CFO position at Visa Payments.
With an extensive career in the financial services sector, Filshie commenced his professional journey at PwC and Standard Chartered. Subsequently, he held senior roles at prominent global entities such as Barclays and American Express. Additionally, he held CFO positions within smaller specialized financial services groups and fintech companies, including World First and CLS Group.
Richard Rowney, CEO of Nucleus, expressed confidence in Filshie’s appointment, highlighting his three-decade-long expertise in the financial sector. Rowney emphasized the crucial role Filshie will play in advancing the company’s strategy, focusing on platform investment and expansion to consolidate its position as a premier independent adviser platform in the UK.
In response, Filshie expressed enthusiasm about joining Nucleus during this pivotal phase. He underscored the company’s commitment to investing in adviser priorities and enhancing customer retirement experiences. Impressed by the leadership’s vision and Nucleus’s growth trajectory, Filshie emphasized the company’s strong position, backed by robust shareholder support, to capitalize on platform market opportunities.
