Insider’s President Barbara Peng Takes the Helm as CEO after Henry Blodget Resigns
Henry Blodget, the Insider co-founder, is relinquishing his role as the CEO of the publication, a venture he played a pivotal role in establishing over 15 years ago, as announced by the company on Tuesday. In his place, Barbara Peng, the current President, will assume the position of CEO.
As part of Peng’s strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the brand positioning of the business and technology news publication, the company will revert to its original name, “Business Insider.”
The transformation follows the 2015 acquisition of a majority stake in Insider by the German publishing giant Axel Springer SE. In 2021, Axel Springer SE discontinued the use of the “Business Insider” name as part of its efforts to broaden coverage.
