Jeff Bezos is $8.1 billion richer in just one day

Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos’ wealth has skyrocketed by $8.1 billion in just one day, bringing his total net worth to a staggering $151 billion. Most of his fortune is derived from Amazon shares. Amazon stock accounts for roughly 85 percent of Bezos’ fortune. Amazon’s stock price rose more than 6 percent on that Friday, and the 59-year-old owner controls a hefty 9.6 percent of the business.

Bezos is the third-wealthiest person in the world, trailing only Tesla CEO Elon Musk ($200 billion net worth) and LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault ($153 billion net worth).

Amazon.com, Inc. stock had its best day in eight months and reported robust financial results for the third quarter, with its revenue rising by 13% to $143.1 billion. Furthermore, the company’s net income more than tripled, reaching $9.9 billion, or 94 cents per share, compared to $2.9 billion, or 28 cents per share, from the previous year.

Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott, also experienced a dramatic increase in net worth, receiving an additional $2.1 billion, bringing her total to an impressive $29.1 billion.

$87 billion. That’s how much market capitalization Amazon tacked on Friday, swelling its valuation to $1.3 trillion—making it the world’s fifth-largest publicly traded company.
