Lisa Barton to Be CEO of Alliant Energy as current CEO John Larsen Becomes Executive Chairman

Alliant Energy (NASDAQ: LNT) has officially announced that the Board of Directors has elected John Larsen, the current board chair and CEO, to the position of Executive Chairman, effective as of January 1, 2024. Furthermore, Lisa Barton has been chosen as the CEO of Alliant Energy and will join the board of directors, also starting from January 1, 2024.

Alliant Energy Corporation provides regulated energy services to 995,000 electric and 425,000 natural gas customers in Iowa and Wisconsin.

John Larsen expressed his confidence in Lisa Barton’s leadership, while Lisa Barton, who assumed the role of president and COO at Alliant Energy in February of the current year, shared her excitement. Carol Sanders, the independent lead director of the board of directors, conveyed the board’s confidence in Lisa Barton. Carol Sanders will retain her position as lead independent director.

In John Larsen’s new role as executive chairman, he will continue to be an employee of Alliant Energy and will chair the board of directors, with Lisa Barton reporting to him. In partnership with Barton, Larsen will oversee key strategic matters of significance to the company, including the formulation of the company’s strategy, as well as legislative and investor relations. He will remain actively engaged in crucial energy and economic policy matters and maintain connections with key stakeholders and the community.
