ElectraMeccanica Appoints Stephen Johnston for the role of CFO following Mark Orsmond’s  Decision to Depart

ElectraMeccanica Vehicles Corp. (NASDAQ: SOLO), a designer and assembler of electric vehicles, has announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Mark Orsmond, will be succeeded immediately by Stephen Johnston. Orsmond’s departure is a mutually agreed transition, allowing him to pursue other interests while leaving the company’s financial reporting, cost controls, and balance sheet in excellent condition.

Stephen Johnston, who has been working in a consulting role with Orsmond, ElectraMeccanica’s Board, and the management team since June 2023, will now assume the role of CFO. Mr. Orsmond will continue to assist the company during Johnston’s onboarding under a 60-day consulting agreement.

Susan E. Docherty, Chief Executive Officer of ElectraMeccanica, expressed her appreciation for Mark Orsmond’s contributions to the company and his professionalism in financial reporting and cost management. She acknowledged his assistance during the transition and wished him the best in his future endeavors.

Docherty also praised Stephen Johnston, highlighting his prior private and public company CFO experiences and his seamless fit into the company. Mr. Johnston most recently served as the CFO for Ideanomics, a global manufacturer of electric vehicles with responsibilities including acquisition integration and streamlining financial reporting operations. Prior to that, he held CFO positions at Dura Automotive and the North American division of Tower Automotive, Tier-1 auto-industry OEMs. He started his career at KPMG, ultimately becoming a partner specializing in materials and manufacturing for the transportation, automotive, automation, metals, and engineered products sectors.
