Vocus CFO Nitesh Naidoo has been Appointed Chief Executive Officer for its Consumer Business – JP Moorhead Joins as CFO

Vocus has announced that Nitesh Naidoo, the current Chief Financial Officer, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer for its consumer business. Additionally, the telecommunications company has appointed JP Moorhead, who joins from venture capital firm Blackbird, as the new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Naidoo.

Vocus CEO Ellie Sweeney expressed her confidence in Nitesh Naidoo’s leadership, emphasizing his exceptional performance as CFO over the past three and a half years. She also praised the talent within Vocus, highlighting Naidoo’s deep understanding of the company’s intricacies and the evolving dynamics of the consumer market. Sweeney acknowledged the return to profitable growth in the consumer business over the past year, positioning it as a valuable strategic asset, and expressed her belief that Naidoo would continue this positive trajectory.

Nitesh Naidoo joined Vocus in 2020 as CFO, following a seven-year tenure at Optus from 2013 to 2020, where he held various leadership roles in finance, wholesale, and commercial. Before that, he gained experience working at Telefonica and T-Mobile in the United Kingdom. Naidoo expressed his privilege in being appointed Chief Executive of Australia’s fourth-largest consumer broadband business, emphasizing the strong market momentum of their Dodo and iPrimus retail brands, which collectively provide over 900,000 services in broadband, mobile, and energy. He also highlighted their commitment to maintaining the lowest levels of customer complaints among major telcos.

Naidoo will assume his new role on October 2, 2023, while JP Moorhead will join Vocus on September 11. Sweeney commended Moorhead’s extensive experience, having previously served as CFO of Blackbird Ventures, CFO of Westpac’s Specialist Business division, and bringing valuable telco expertise from his time as Group CFO of the Virgin Group. She emphasized Moorhead’s exceptional track record across various industries, highlighting his expertise in finance, strategy, and transformation within high-growth environments. Sweeney also noted Moorhead’s significance to Vocus’s leadership team as they continue their $1 billion investment strategy to upgrade the reach and capacity of their national fiber network.
