Quarterhill Inc. (TSX: QTRH) (OTCQX: QTRHF) announced the appointment of Chuck Myers as Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Chuck Myers, a member of the Quarterhill Board of Directors since May 2023, brings extensive experience to his new role.
Prior to joining Quarterhill, Mr. Myers served as CEO and a board member of Cogniac Corporation, a San Jose, California-based company specializing in enterprise-class AI deep learning solutions for automating visual inspection through image and video analysis. His leadership at Cogniac resulted in noteworthy recognitions, including “2021 Global Entrepreneurial Company of the Year in Computer Vision” by Frost & Sullivan and being identified as “A Global Leader” by IDC in 2022.
Rusty Lewis, Chair of the Board at Quarterhill, expressed confidence in Mr. Myers. Mr. Lewis also extended appreciation to John Gillberry, who previously served as a director of the company and as Interim CEO. Gillberry’s leadership during a crucial period led to strategic decisions that stabilized operations, optimized SG&A, restored positive operating margins, and facilitated the sale of WiLAN.
Before his tenure at Cogniac, Chuck Myers held the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer, and Board Member at Airgain, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIRG), a leading provider of embedded antenna technologies for high-performance wireless networking. Earlier in his career, he was a member of the SAIC Transportation Division, instrumental in building the first electronic toll collection system in the United States. This project eventually evolved into the establishment of Transcore, one of the world’s largest electronic toll-collection providers. During this time, Mr. Myers played key roles in several acquisitions, including Syntonic, Cubic Toll Systems, and JHK Associates.
Currently, Mr. Myers serves as an advisor to Platform Science, a groundbreaking fleet management platform, Rx.Health, a digital health platform company; and Energy311, a green energy and fintech startup. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management of Technology from MIT, a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from National University, and an Organizational Leadership Certificate from Yale School of Management.
