Here are the most expensive universities in the world

We often hear people say that knowledge is free, but is it really the truth? The reality is different. Yes, you can learn from wherever you want, but those who wish to be part of the formal education system know that there is money involved lots of money involved. Higher Education has never been easy for anyone because students often end up paying a great share of their financial resources to acquire what you call knowledge.

There are universities, of course, that offer either tuition fee-free or charge a very basic amount of fee. But, these are only a few in number. Most top-tier universities in the world are concentrated in the west and are, unsurprisingly, very expensive. Unless you are super-duper rich or on a scholarship, you cannot afford to be there. I am going to name a few of them here. They are exceptionally great at what they do, but all of that comes at a cost.

Here are the most expensive universities in the world.

  1. Harvey Mudd College, USA
Based in Claremont, California, Harvey Mudd College is a private college that offers degree programs in science and engineering. Its academic structure includes a range of courses in mathematics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and physics. There are also join courses on computer science and mathematics, and biology and chemistry. Reportedly, its graduates are among the highest-earning in the country. But, all of this success comes at a whopping cost of $79,539 a year.

  1. John Hopkins University, USA
The John Hopkins University was established in the year 1876 and has been named after the famous namesake philanthropist and businessman. It is a private research university and has been organized in 10 divisions spread across its campuses. These divisions include Zanvly Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Medical School, the Whiting School of Engineering, and Johns Hopkins Children’s Centre. The university has helped found the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU). To enjoy its perks, however, you will have to shell out as much as $73,980 depending on the program you opt for.

  1. Parsons School of Design, USA
Well, you don’t even have to check the fee structure of Parsons to get an idea of how expensive it can be. Just look at its campus in New York City and you will get what I saying! Founded in 1896, the Parsons School of Design is arguably the best design school in the world. It offers programmes in fashion design, interior design, and graphic design among many others. It is a member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Celebrities such as Alexander Wang and Mario Buatta have studied here. I don’t know how much they paid at their time but today, it would have cost them $25,861 per semester.

  1. Dartmouth College, USA
Coming on the fourth rank is an Ivy League star, Dartmouth College based in New Hampshire. It is a research university and among the oldest educational institutions in the country. A major highlight of the college is its multidisciplinary coursework for various degree programs in social sciences, humanities, engineering, and natural sciences. Alongside, there are a number of schools such as the Geisel School of Medicine, the Tuck School of Business, and the Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies. So far as its research activity is concerned, it is rated very high on the charts. Students may end up paying $67,044 and even more depending on the course.

  1. Columbia University, USA
Another private Ivy League on the list, Columbia University was established in the year 1754 and is one of the highest-ranked universities in the world. Its academic organization comprises several schools or colleges; these include Columbia Law School, Columbia Climate School, Columbia University School of Nursing, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and Barnard College. To internationalize the experiences of its students, it has partnered with many foreign institutions such as King’s College, London; London School of Economics, and the University of Oxford. It also maintains many global centres in cities such as Paris, Mumbai, and Santiago. But, going to Columbia University is not easy as you will pay about $1,768 a credit hour.
