Revealed: The Top 10 Best Future Supercars
Supercars are vehicles that most of us have only grown up with playing with as toys. These are the cream of the crop when it comes to the automotive world. It used to be that a supercar was something like a Ferrari or even a Porsche. But as the automotive industry has evolved, there have been more players than ever who are coming to the table. Sporting vehicles became popular in the 1940’s, bringing about cars that prized handling and speed over safety, reliability, and practicality. These vehicles were built for both road driving and motorsport competitions. Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus, and Jaguar were the early adopters of these high-performance machines. Please find below a list with the top 10 future supercars:
- Tesla Roadster, 2020: The original Tesla Roadster was a revolution and it set off the electric car race that we see today. So how can the company make it better? Well, the next generation is going to be even faster and offer a plethora of new features. Tesla has established itself as an automaker and now it’s time to start innovating the vehicle lineup again with new features.
- Aston Martin Valkyrie, 2020: The folks over at Aston Martin have been quite busy, to say the least. The new Aston Martin SUV is dazzling and the Valkyrie is going to bring new heat to the supercar race. With competitors such as the Viper on the Horizon, the Valkyrie will need to bring performance and style. The Valkyrie is scheduled to show its face at some point around the 2020 model year.
- Mercedes-AMG One, 2020: The Mercedes-AMG One is ambitious in every sense of the word. Converting an actual F1 powertrain for use in a street-legal car is a monumental task, both in terms of reliability and allowable emissions. Engineers are struggling to keep the 1.6-liter hybrid-assisted engine at its promised 1,000-horsepower level while meeting regulations, but the plan is to have production models to owners starting in 2021.
- SSC Tuatara, 2020: It’s true that the first production Tuatara appeared at Monterey week 2019, and SSC will sell vehicles through Manhattan Motorcars in New York. This car was literally years in the making, however, and we’re still anxious to see production models (as in, more than one) make it to owners’ garages. All indications are it’s worth the wait, as its 5.9-liter twin-turbo V8 is said to produce 1,350 horsepower on pump gas, or a staggering 1,750 hp when using ethanol-rich E85. Only 100 will be built.
- Rimac C Two, 2020: Rimac has come a long way in a short time. The niche EV hypercar company now has considerable backing from Porsche, and its stunning C Two is on-track for initial customer deliveries in 2020. Exact stats for the production model aren’t yet known, but its four electric motors could produce in excess of 2,000 (yes, 2,000) combined horsepower.
- Porsche 911 Turbo, 2020: The Porsche 911 Turbo is already a supercar by many standards, so it’s only natural that Porsche is going to continue improving on this formula. The next-generation Porsche 911 is going to have a more defined exterior as well as engine more power. There is also talk that the next generation might be a mid-engine setup.
- Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, 2021: Bugatti is a brand that needs no introduction when it comes to the supercar arena. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is going to reclaim its crown as the most powerful supercar on the planet and with good reason. Bugatti has remained one of the only automakers with the fastest car in the world and the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport will carry on this tradition.
- McLaren Speedster, 2021: McLaren will only build 399 copies of this sinfully gorgeous Speedster. Actually, we don’t even know for sure if it will be called Speedster, but it will have a version of the company’s twin-turbocharged V8 engine. We’re patiently waiting for more details to come, but it shouldn’t be too long of a wait. Initial deliveries of production vehicles are expected to begin in late 2020.
- Aston Martin Valhalla, 2021: There’s no denying that Aston Martin has been building fast cars for a very long time. The 2021 Aston Martin Valhalla is going to be another evolution in the brand’s history. If you want to drive a very fast Aston Martin that will blow the doors off of the competition, the 2021 Aston Martin Valhalla is it.
- Aston Martin Vanquish, 2022: The thousand-horsepower Valkyrie is getting a mid-engined baby brother. Aston Martin is planning a new mid-engined sports car with an electronically boosted V8 and a classic name. The new mid-engine Vanquish will arrive in 2022.
