Unsurprisingly, the United State tops the list. The U.S. exported 36 percent of all arms sold in the 2014-2018 period, according to a report published by the Sweden-based Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Russia ranked number two on the list with 20 percent.
Russia was the second-largest exporter in the world. It sold weapons to 48 countries and accounted for 21% of all arms sold.
The top five arms exporters — the United States, Russia, France, Germany, and China.
The table below lists the market share of the largest suppliers of major weapons between 2014 and 2018.
