Paris is rightly called the ‘City of Love.’ With architectural excellence in one hand and fashion industry on the other, the city is a head turner for any first timer as he gets spellbound by its many-faceted staggering looks. Well, there is no end to the list of top attractions, but we managed to recollect such 20 places without which your Paris tour is incomplete. Avail the metro, bus, cruise or taxi and feel like a Parisien while in Paris.

Eiffel Tower

Constructed in the year 1889 by Gustave Eiffel, the tower is 334 meters in height and 125 meters in diameter. The magnificent tower has three tiers, and you may climb the second tier to observe the city and River Seine.  Enjoy the bird’s eye view of the city while you cherish some of the detectable delicacies in the restaurants.

Louvre Museum

The second most visited museum in the world is Musee du Louvre. With various collections from around the world, the museum showcases exquisite items from the Egyptian kingdom, Roman Empire, Islamic work and paintings. Never miss the eloquent paintings from the 12th century, AD and of course Michelangelo’s masterpiece ‘Monalisa.’

Garnier du Palais(Palais Garnier)

Located on 8 Rue Scribe, Garnier Palais or Opera house is the symbol of grandeur and opulence, which was built by Charles Garnier between 1861 to 1875. Musee d’ Orsay

This museum covers 60 years of the history of human arts. The museum went through a huge revamp in 1986, and new rooms were added in 2011. This place attracts more than 3 million visitors every year who get attracted by its impressionism and pointillism. Don’t miss the coffee shop, tucked behind the clock which is used to pay tribute to Jules Verne’s Nautilus.

Arc de Triomphe

It’s one of the notable monuments of Paris. The iconic symbol of Paris conveys some patriotic message, and it has seen several historical marches around the city. You can witness the tomb of the “Unknown Soldier” who laid his life in World War I. Every day at 6:30 people lay a wreath to pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the country.

Notre-Dame

The medieval Catholic cathedral was built following the gothic style, is situated by the River Seine.  The massive 420 feet structure has 10 bells which strike at a beautiful note. If you explore the inside of the church, you will witness the history of how the church was built in various stages. It’s a great experience to see the church while sitting outside the gate watching the Seine River.

Chateau de Versailles (Palace of Versailles)

12 miles south of Paris is Versailles, the center for French monarch, now is a great attraction for visitors. You will be enchanted to see the architectural excellence which used to be the symbol of power and flamboyance. Feel the vibration of history while you explore the balconies, staircases and especially the arena where the Queen, Mary Antanoitte was accused of uttering the infamous words ‘let them eat cake.’ It sparked the fire of revolution amongst the common French men.

Les Catacombs (Catacombs of Paris)

If you are ready for that nerve-racking spooky experience, then don’t miss the tour of Catacombs which is made from the bones and remains of six million people embracing death during the historic French revolution. Read the board, ‘Stop, this is the empire of the dead’ and then dare to step inside for that spine-chilling experience.

Montparnasse Tower (Tour Montparnasse)

Montparnasse Tower is 210 meters in height and situated near Montparnasse, France. Two high-speed lifts operate here to take you to the top of the tower from where you can enjoy the 360-degree view of the city. And, if you are a photography freak, you should never miss a chance to ride the top of the tower and experience a bird’s eye view of the city.

Moulin Rouge

A dance bar that has its existence for 120 years and still famous for its erotic shows, attracting millions of visitors is what we call Moulin Rouge. You will see 60 Cancan dancers perform with flawless synchronization over two hours. The costumes are flamboyant, and legs rise higher than expected to give the dance a bold look. Add champagne for the ultimate experience.

Sacre’-Coeur

This building was built after the nation got defeated by Prussia in 1870. This enormous Romano-Byzantine edifice began in 1877. Paul Abadie and some other architects finally finished this enormous structure. It’s positioned atop the hill Montmartre, and the lavish interiors are worth seeing.

Love Lock Bridge

It is a bridge above the Seine River, which has lots of lock and keys tied to it. You will have a chance to see it while cruising over the River Seine over Bateaux. It’s believed that if a couple prays for their love and locks a pad with a key, their love becomes eternal. If you are a young couple, you should take the chance of praying for your love and lock it over the bridge.

Galeries Lafayette

It is the most significant shopping mall in the city with abundant availability of luxury brands. You will love the architecture, the oval-shaped shopping mall where the luxury brands jostle space to attract customers for sale. During Christmas, when there is a Christmas tree in the central position, the mall becomes the greatest attraction for kids as well as adults.

Street Art of Paris

Paris is a creative city and known for its fantastic arts all over the city walls. This is undoubtedly one the most friendly places in the world. You may see stuffed animals and the structure of prehistoric beasts. It’s a great experience to see the endangered species, diversities of nature and also some vanished sections. You will see the bony remains of fishes, monkeys, birds, humans and of course dinosaur.

Disneyland Paris

The greatest amusement park throughout the world is the chain of Disneyland and Paris is certainly no exception to it. In fact, it was inspired by the cartoon mouse character, but the modern Disneyland has many more options like Pirates of the Caribbean, Small world, Fantasyland and Discovery land. Musee Grevin

It is a marketplace, and it runs along the Boulevard Richard Lenoir. The city’s capital market is known for having a hive of food vendors, free range chicken, fish, sausage, vegetables and other things of French origin. Here, you may get cheap clothing and accessories that are available for sale. The experience of walking through this vibrant market is delectable.
