With an average listing price of $10.19 million, Atherton, California was named the most expensive neighborhood to live in America, according to website Realtor.com. Atherton is also known as one of America’s most prestigious neighborhoods. Homeowners include Sequoia Capital’s Doug Leone, Eric Schmidt, Meg Whitman and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
Los Altos is the second most expensive neighborhood overall, with an average listing price of $6.33 million – home to Google’s Sergey Brin.
