Countries With Large Outflows Of High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI): 2018 Wealth Migration Review
With ten-thousand Chinese high net worth individuals (HNWI) migrating to other countries, China ranks first on the list of countries with large outflows of HNWI in 2017, according to the 2018 Global Wealth Migration Review, published by the AfrAsia Bank. Most ultra-rich Chinese moved to the United States, Canada, and Australia, the report said.
India figures second on the list, with seven-thousand Indian HNWI migrated, while the corresponding figure from Turkey was six-thousand, giving it the third spot. Indian HNWIs moved to the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand; while Turkish HNWIs moved largely to Europe and the United Arab Emirates.

4. The United Kingdom
Net outflow of HNWIs in 2017: 4,000
Preferred Destinations: Australia and the United States.
5. France
Net outflow of HNWIs in 2017: 4,000
Preferred Destinations: Canada, Switzerland, and the United States.
6. Russia
Net outflow of HNWIs in 2017: 3,000
Preferred Destinations: The United States, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and the Caribbean.
7. Brazil
Net outflow of HNWIs in 2017: 2,000
Preferred Destinations: Portugal, the United States, and Spain.
8. Indonesia
Net outflow of HNWIs in 2017: 2,000
Preferred Destinations: Singapore.
9. Saudi Arabia
Net outflow of HNWIs in 2017: 1,000
Preferred Destinations: The United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
10. Nigeria
Net outflow of HNWIs in 2017: 1,000
Preferred Destinations: The United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
11. Venezuela
Net outflow of HNWIs in 2017: 1,000
Preferred Destinations: The United States.
Billionaires: Billionaires are those individuals with net assets of USD $1 billion or more.
Multi millionaires: Those individuals with net assets of US$10 million or more.
Millionaires (HNWIs): Those individuals with net assets of US$1 million or more. Also known as “high net worth individuals.”
Mass Affluent: Those individuals with net assets of between US$100,000 and US$1 million.
Total wealth: includes all their assets (property, cash, equities, business interests) less any liabilities. We exclude government funds from our figures.
