World’s top 100 colleges and universities to study business and economics, 2018

Thirty-five American and fifteen British institutions have made it into the world’s top 100 colleges and universities to study business and economics in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2018 ranking.

The list is topped by Stanford University in United States.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of Oxford, London Business School, and the University of Cambridge took the second, third, forth, and fifth places respectively in the global ranking.

The top ten universities to study business and economics around the world are rounded off by five more universities form United States – Harvard University, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, the University of Pennsylvania, and University of California Berkeley.

The ranking takes into account subjects including business and management, accounting and finance, management and economics and econometrics.

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (NO. 14) was the highest ranked university in Asia, followed by National University of Singapore (NO. 16) and Peking University (NO. 17) in China.

As per the ranking for 2018, countries with the most top-ranked universities to study business and economics are:

  • United States: 30 institutions
  • United Kingdom: 15 institutions
  • Australia, Germany, and Netherlands: 6 institutions each
  • Canada and Hong Kong: 5 institutions each
  • Belgium, China, and Italy, Switzerland: 3 institutions each
  • Singapore and Spain: 2 institutions each
  • Austria, Denmark, France, Finland, South Korea, Taiwan: 1 institution each

Best Business Schools for MBA

Earlier this year the CEOWORLD magazines ranking of best business schools for 2017 put France’s INSEAD Business School‎, at the top, while London Business School was at the top of the list for the UK, although it came fifth overall.

Cambridge Judge Business School was the only other British business school to make it into the top 20 of the global ranking, while Oxford’s Saïd Business School came 25th and Alliance Manchester Business School came 29th.
