Who do you think is the greatest female tennis player of all-time?
The universal truth that nobody can deny is that Germany’s Steffi Graf is arguably the greatest female tennis player of any generation period, who dominated the sport from 1987-1999. With Gra, there is no comparision to the elegance, grace, accuracy, agility, and athleticism.
Steffi Graf is to Women tennis as Roger Federer is to Mens. In a few years my vote might be for Serena Williams but at the time of this post I have to go with teffi Graf.
If you don’t know who she is you don’t know women’s tennis.
After all, Steffi is the only tennis player (male or female) to achieve the “Golden Slam” or “Golden Grand Slam” by winning all 4 Grand Slam singles titles and the Olympic gold medal in the same calendar year. Just over 30 years old, Steffi retired in 1999. Graf is also the only tennis player to have won each Grand Slam event at least 4 times.
Comparing great tennis champions from different eras will always be problematic. When the debate about “the best” occurs, 3 names are commonly discussed; Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, and Serena Williams.
Over the last one month we have asked our readers to vote for the greatest female tennis player of all-time. So, who is the greatest female tennis player of all-time?
