Eirik Ellingsen to Become the New CEO of Mooreast Holdings
Mooreast Holdings Ltd, a Singapore-based specialist in mooring solutions, has announced that Eirik Ellingsen will take over as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025. Ellingsen, a seasoned professional from Norway with over 35 years of experience in the offshore and marine sectors, will succeed the company’s founder, Sim Koon Lam, who will continue as Executive Director and Deputy Chairman.
Ellingsen’s appointment comes as the global floating offshore wind market gains significant traction. He currently serves as Director of Offshore Wind in the Asia Pacific at Norwegian Energy Partners, where he has developed strong connections in key markets such as South Korea, Japan, and Australia. His leadership is anticipated to bolster Mooreast’s status as a top provider of cutting-edge mooring solutions for floating wind projects.
Mooreast, recognized for its high-power anchors and advanced mooring technology, is actively expanding its international presence. The company operates facilities in Singapore and the Netherlands, with plans to establish a new site in Aberdeen, Scotland, and is focusing on the North East Asia market. A recent strategic investment in a large Singapore property has increased its production capacity fourfold, allowing it to support up to 2 GW of floating wind projects annually.
In a statement regarding his upcoming role, Ellingsen expressed his enthusiasm for joining Mooreast, noting his commitment to driving transformative strategies that will position the company as a leader in the floating renewable energy sector.
With Ellingsen’s leadership, Mooreast aims to sharpen its strategic direction and capitalize on opportunities in the rapidly expanding floating offshore wind market.
