Roshni Nadar Malhotra: Female Leadership in India with one of Delhi’s Richest

Roshni Nadar Malhotra, the scion of Indian billionaire Shiv Nadar and accomplished philanthropist Kiran Nadar, traces her path from academic pursuits to a leadership role in one of India’s leading technology companies, HCL Technologies. Nadar Malhotra has consistently featured among the top Indian billionaires. Her accolades include being recognized as the ‘richest woman in India’ by Hurun India in 2020 and 2021.

After completing her education in Communication and pursuing an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Nadar Malhotra embarked on a career in media, with internships at CNBC and CNN, followed by a stint as a news producer at Sky News. Despite her early immersion in media, she heeded her father’s counsel to delve into business, eventually joining HCL in 2009.

Nadar Malhotra’s journey within HCL saw her rise through the ranks, culminating in her appointment as Chairperson in 2020, succeeding her father. Alongside her corporate responsibilities, she maintains a keen interest in media, having produced TV shows for prominent channels and championing conservation efforts through The Habitats Trust.

Beyond her role at HCL, Nadar Malhotra is actively involved in philanthropy, serving as a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which focuses on promoting education across Indian society. She also chairs the VidyaGyan Leadership Academy, dedicated to nurturing leadership among underprivileged communities.

The story of Nadar Malhotra exemplifies not only entrepreneurial success but also a steadfast commitment to philanthropy and environmental conservation, embodying a holistic approach to leadership and social responsibility.
