Tom Wood is the new CFO of Progeny
Progeny, a UK-based wealth management and advisory firm known for its series of strategic M&A transactions, has appointed Tom Wood as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Established in 1981, Progeny underwent a management buyout in 2008, followed by a rebranding initiative. The Progeny name was officially introduced in 2014, marking the firm’s evolution into various sectors. Since 2016, it has operated under the Progeny banner, expanding its reach through the acquisition of nearly 30 firms. Its most recent acquisition, Manchester-based Chartered Wealth Management, was finalized in late January 2024.
Previously, Wood served as the chief restructuring and financial officer of the Co-operative Bank, where he played a key role in advising on its third recapitalization. Prior to this, he held the positions of CEO and CFO at Shawbrook Group, guiding the company through its successful initial public offering and subsequent inclusion in the FTSE 250 index. Wood also boasts experience as an advisor, investor, and independent non-executive director.
