Performance Food Group Appoints Chris Hobson as its new President and CEO
Performance Food Group Co. (PFG) has appointed Chris Hobson as the new president and CEO of its convenience business, taking charge of the Core-Mark subsidiary. Hobson assumes this position from Scott McPherson, who has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Field Operations Officer.
Headquartered in Richmond, PFG operates a vast network of over 150 distribution facilities with a workforce of 35,000 associates. The company specializes in marketing and delivering food and related products to over 300,000 locations.
Hobson’s tenure at Core-Mark spans over 20 years, starting as a general sales manager and progressing through various leadership roles, including Division President, Vice President of Marketing, Senior Vice President, and President and Chief Operating Officer. In his expanded role, he will maintain oversight of performance, enterprise growth, and marketing/purchasing/merchandising while taking on additional responsibilities in finance, human resources, and IT. Hobson will report directly to McPherson.
Meanwhile, McPherson’s role has also expanded to lead PFG’s food service business segment, in addition to overseeing PFG’s Vistar and convenience businesses. He will continue reporting to Craig Hoskins, PFG’s president and COO.
Additionally, Sean Mahoney has been promoted to President and CEO at Vistar. Mahoney, who joined Vistar in 2014, has progressed through various leadership roles, including Multichannel Vice President, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and President and COO. He will also continue reporting to McPherson.
