Paypal Strengthens its Leadership Team
According to a press release on Wednesday, PayPal announced the appointment of Isabel Cruz as its new Chief People Officer, among several recent hires. Cruz is set to commence her role with the company on November 27, as PayPal strengthens its executive team subsequent to the installment of its new CEO, Alex Chriss.
Michelle Gill, appointed as an Executive Vice President, will serve as the General Manager of a newly established unit focused on small business and financial services. Gill began her tenure on Wednesday. Diego Scotti is slated to join as an Executive Vice President and General Manager for a consumer and global marketing and communications group, effective December 4, overseeing another newly formed unit.
The expansion of the management team follows the appointment of Chriss in August as PayPal’s new leader, succeeding long-time CEO Dan Schulman, with the goal of fortifying the San Jose, California-based company.
In another recent development, PayPal appointed Jamie Miller as its new CFO, effective from November 6. Miller, previously the global CFO at accounting and consulting firm EY, also served as CFO at Cargill and held a CFO position at General Electric, according to a PayPal press release.
Several of the new executives joining PayPal come from diverse backgrounds. Cruz previously held a senior vice president position at retail giant Walmart, overseeing people operations for Walmart’s global technology, services, and corporate teams. Gill was previously a senior vice president at Intuit, managing the QuickBooks money platform, while Scotti served as the chief marketing officer at clothing retailer J.Crew and brings experience from roles at American Express.
