BrewDog Appoints James Taylor as its CFO following Niall McCallum’s Departure

BrewDog has appointed James Taylor as its Chief Financial Officer following the departure of Niall McCallum, the previous CFO. This marks the second recent addition to BrewDog’s senior leadership team, with James Arrow being named as the Chief Operating Officer. In March, BrewDog also brought in Chris Fielden to serve as its first Chief Supply Chain Officer, a newly created position responsible for sourcing, production, packaging, and distribution of its beverages and spirits.

James Taylor comes to BrewDog from Mayborn, a childcare company known for brands like Tommee Tippee, where he oversaw finance operations for consumer brands. Prior to this role, he was responsible for European transactions at the real estate firm Tishman Speyer.

The departure of Niall McCallum was announced internally last month but became public knowledge through documents filed at Companies House.

A spokesperson for BrewDog stated, “After three years as CFO, Niall McCallum has decided that now is the right time to leave BrewDog and seek a new challenge. Niall joined just before the second lockdown in October 2020 and has led the finance function through the most turbulent time in our sector’s history. Niall has led the development of the finance, IT, and procurement teams during this time, and they are all geared up to continue to support and scale with the group as BrewDog continues to grow.”

The spokesperson also mentioned that Mr. McCallum had played an instrumental role in the company’s progress over the last three years and left with the full support and best wishes of the board and TSG, a BrewDog minority shareholder.
