Matt Omer Succeeds Felicia DellaFortuna in the role of CFO at BuzzFeed
BuzzFeed, Inc. (Nasdaq: BZFD), a platform known for curating the best of the Internet, spanning pop culture, entertainment, shopping, food, and news, has officially announced the impending departure of its Chief Financial Officer, Felicia DellaFortuna, who is set to leave the company before the end of November to pursue a new opportunity. In her place, Matt Omer, the current Executive Vice President of Finance and Treasurer, has been appointed as the next CFO and will assume the role on November 6, 2023.
Matt Omer has been an integral part of BuzzFeed since 2019, overseeing Finance and Treasury functions, and has been a crucial partner to Felicia DellaFortuna throughout recent transactions. Prior to his tenure at BuzzFeed, Omer held the position of COO & CFO at 123 Home Care, and he also served in financial leadership roles at Viant Technology (Nasdaq: DSP) in addition to various positions at KPMG.
Felicia DellaFortuna, who joined BuzzFeed in 2015 as Senior Director of Finance and has served as the company’s CFO since February 2020, is departing the company to pursue new opportunities.
Jonah Peretti, Founder and CEO of BuzzFeed, Inc., expressed his appreciation for Felicia’s contributions to the company and his confidence in Matt Omer taking on the role of CFO.
Marcela Martin, President of BuzzFeed Inc., also expressed gratitude for Felicia’s contributions and her role in preparing a successor like Matt Omer to assume the CFO role.
