Masco Corporation (NYSE: MAS), a prominent manufacturer of branded home improvement and building products worldwide headquartered in Livonia, Michigan, has officially announced the appointment of Richard (Rick) Westenberg as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective from October 16, 2023.
Mr. Westenberg brings a wealth of experience to Masco, with a career spanning over 25 years, including nearly 15 years of leadership in global finance organizations. Most recently, he served as Vice President and CFO of General Motors North America, where he was responsible for managing the financial aspects and performance of this approximately $125 billion segment. In addition, he led a diverse team across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Prior to this role, Mr. Westenberg was Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer of SAIC-General Motors, a $30 billion joint venture in China, where he was a key member of the executive committee responsible for pivotal operational and strategic decisions. Throughout his tenure at GM, he took on roles of increasing responsibility, including serving as Corporate Treasurer and heading Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis.
Masco’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Keith Allman, expressed his enthusiasm for Rick Westenberg joining Masco’s leadership team. He emphasized Rick’s strategic prowess and his proven track record in guiding diverse international teams and achieving results in the global manufacturing sector. Allman believes that Rick’s expertise will be exceptionally valuable as Masco continues to build upon its strong financial and operational foundation and strives to deliver long-term value to its shareholders.
In addition to his extensive professional background, Mr. Westenberg holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
