DHL Supply Chain, Asia Pacific Region Announces Javier Bilbao as the New CEO

DHL Supply Chain

DHL Supply Chain has announced a shift in its regional management structure. Terry Ryan, who has been serving as the CEO of DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific, will be retiring from Deutsche Post DHL Group after more than four decades of working with the company.

Taking over from Terry Ryan is Javier Bilbao, who was previously at the helm of DHL Supply Chain Latin America. Effective September 1, Javier Bilbao will assume the role of CEO for DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific.

During Terry Ryan’s tenure as leader, DHL Supply Chain achieved significant business growth across nearly all of its Asia Pacific markets, marking a threefold increase in size over the past seven years. Ryan played a pivotal role in bolstering the company’s presence in the region by orchestrating strategic transactions such as the acquisitions of Total Logistics Company (TLC) and Glen Cameron Group. Additionally, he spearheaded the establishment of DHL Summit Solutions, Inc., a joint venture with a focus on transportation, in the Philippines.

Javier Bilbao expressed eagerness to take on this new responsibility and build upon the solid foundation laid by Terry Ryan over the past seven years. Bilbao affirmed his commitment to maintaining top-notch services for customers, advancing the ongoing digitalization efforts, and striving to enhance the company’s standing as a distinguished workplace.

Bilbao noted the resemblances between Asia Pacific and Latin America, both characterized by their rich cultural diversity and the multifaceted nature of services provided to customers. Acknowledging Asia Pacific’s role as a prominent contributor to global economic growth, Bilbao conveyed his enthusiasm for tapping into the region’s potential and steering the business toward further expansion.

Javier Bilbao’s affiliation with the DHL Group dates back to 2000 when he embarked on his career journey in the UK. Over the years, he has held various managerial roles within the Supply Chain division, accumulating extensive operational experience across diverse aspects of the business. From 2017 onwards, Bilbao has held the position of CEO for DHL Supply Chain Latin America, concurrently serving as a member of the division’s Global Board. His leadership has played a pivotal role in cementing DHL Supply Chain Latin America’s significance as a key contributor within the broader organization.
