Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s fortune hit the $100 billion threshold
Mark Zuckerberg’s wealth has reached a significant milestone as his fortune surpassed the $100 billion mark for the first time since February 2022. This achievement elevates him to the esteemed position of being the 10th richest person globally.
The surge in value can be attributed to a 3% increase in shares of Meta Platforms, the parent company of popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, where Zuckerberg serves as CEO. This rise in share prices resulted in a remarkable $3 billion boost to his overall wealth.
It is worth noting that on November 2, 2022, his net worth — almost all of which is tied up in his 13% holding in Meta — was valued at $35.1 billion, while on September 8, 2021, it reached a staggering $140 billion. Zuckerberg has branded 2023 the “year of efficiency” for Meta.
