Why Rome International School Is Good For Elementary Education

Rome International School

Elementary school is a sensitive place to be. During the said phase, children grow fast and respond to environmental changes. They have to learn, adapt, and score. After all, elementary education is a significant milestone in one’s life and, at times, determines the course of education in the future. And this assumes more concern when moving your children to a foreign elementary school.

In Rome, elementary education is free in public schools. But many foreign children find it challenging to thrive in these schools’ mono-cultural coursework and development programs. As a result, many parents go for private international schools based on international curricula and admit students from diverse backgrounds.

There are numerous international schools in Rome. Our focus will be on the famous Rome International School (RIS). It is an excellent choice for elementary education, although it conducts education until Grade-12. Let’s find out why.

  1. A Gist
Okay, let me tell you a bit about RIS. The school was founded in 1988 and admits students aged from 2 to 18. It takes pride in the multicultural representation of more than 50 nationalities within its premises.

Being a Globeducate School, it is part of more than 55 premium bi-lingual international schools across ten countries. Moreover, RIS is the only school in the city to receive authorization for offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for elementary school children. Your child will study in a thriving IB World School.

  2. Facilities
There is no dearth of infrastructural facilities that contribute to the holistic growth of the child. Early years of education should expose children to curricular and extracurricular activities and encourage socialization. Many facilities here do the same:
      • There are two modern libraries and three science labs.
      • An outdoor classroom amid the woods.
      • Canteens serve fresh and healthy food.
      • iPads and laptops are provided.
      • A massive auditorium.
      • Outdoor play areas across the campus.
  1. Elementary Education at RIS
RIS follows the IB PYP coursework, which comprises an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary approach toward education. The idea is to encourage an in-depth understanding of basic concepts, develop an appetite for research, and engage in practical exercises to apply acquired knowledge.

Since RIS is a Globeducate ICS School, it has introduced LEGO Education resources that use STEM programs in learning. Language classes are also provided; options available include Arabic, Chinese, French, Chinese, and Italian. English as an Additional Language (EAL) is also taught.

  2. Tuition Fees
You must have guessed that much money goes into maintaining an institution like this. Naturally, the tuition fee paid depends on the school your child joins.

For elementary education, the tuition fee structure is demarcated based on years. You can end up paying from EUR 18,500 to EUR 23 425. Additional costs will be incurred, such as registration fee, annual lunch fee, uniform fee, and lunch fee. You may be able to get financial aid, but that is subject to the school’s discretion.
