Wealth, health, and loneliness – how people cope with them to live a happy life

A hand prevents the wooden blocks from falling.

All we want is to be happy. Once someone gives a hint of how this is possible we are all happy to accept the advice and follow the road that has been shown to us. Living is an art. One has to find a way to balance all the parameters that will make them happy. Let’s see how smart people deal with concepts like wealth, health, loneliness, and smartness.

Wealth and fame are like seawater
Seawater has a certain characteristic, the more you drink the thirstier you become. The reason for that is that seawater contains a lot of salt and salt makes us want to urinate. Actually, if someone is left on a boat in the middle of the ocean they should only drink one-third of a glass of seawater to survive. This way they will take all the salt their body needs and they will not become dehydrated. If they drink more than that they will die even faster due to low hydration in their bodies.

Fame and wealthiness are something like that. While we need some money to survive and live a happy life, too much money can bring the opposite results. It makes us ”thirsty.” Also, it invites people who may not care for us but who may come close because they are attracted by our money or reputation. The result is that we cannot live in peace and we have to keep an eye on everyone around us.

Health is beyond everything
If there is one universal truth that everyone will agree about it, this is that health is the most crucial parameter in life. Health can even determine the level of productivity one can have. There is a reason why doctors are so well-respected and why people are so willing to give a fortune to health practitioners. Gyms and fitness coaches are always busy and people try to make up for the damage they do to their bodies by working in front of a computer screen 8 hours a day.

If there is one thing that could be compared to health this is creativity. Creativity is perhaps the only thing that one considers to trade with excellent health. For instance, who would not be tempted to be an exceptional artist like Van Gogh? A healthy beggar who will live for years is better than a wealthy King who will die tomorrow.

Being alone? Being yourself
Some people claim that one can only be themselves when they are completely alone. When we are constantly surrounded by other people we have to interact with them and we also have to respect them. Not to mention all these conditions when we want to make a good impression. No matter what the situation is, we always have to skip focusing on ourselves and start focusing on others or the relationship we build with them.

Having some moments to enjoy our loneliness during the day is a wonderful gift and we should all try to find time to provide this to ourselves. This way we will be more capable of providing for others when we finally meet them and we will be more open to listening to them because we will have already completed the important discussion we had to take care of that was being held with no one else but our own inner selves.

What clever people do
There is a general misconception spread around the world that those who are clever prefer to be lonely. Smart people, however, do not exactly look for loneliness. All they try to do is to avoid the fuss created by fools. If more people shared the same level of cleverness with them they would probably hang out with those people. In other words, they try to find equally smart individuals but they usually fail because statistics are against them. For some reason, nature does not want us all to be too clever. Perhaps it is a wise choice we still do not get but regardless of the reason clever people need their privacy unless they are challenged to a meaningful discussion with someone on the same level.
