Serge Brunschwig Becomes CEO of Jil Sander and Chief Strategy Officer for the Wider OTB Group

OTB Group has announced that Serge Brunschwig will take on the roles of CEO of Jil Sander and Chief Strategy Officer for the wider OTB Group, with his appointment becoming effective on February 5, 2025. He will report directly to Ubaldo Minelli, CEO of OTB Group, in what is seen as a strategic move aimed at strengthening Jil Sander’s market position and advancing the group’s long-term vision.

Minelli emphasized that Brunschwig’s leadership at Jil Sander would focus on elevating the brand’s positioning and guiding its growth with a carefully planned strategy. He also highlighted that Brunschwig’s extensive experience and global perspective would be instrumental in shaping a more ambitious strategic direction for OTB as a whole.

Bringing nearly three decades of experience in the global luxury sector, Brunschwig has held senior leadership roles at some of the most prestigious brands within the LVMH Group. Most recently, he served as CEO and President of Fendi, where he led significant global expansion and brand repositioning efforts. Prior to that, he held leadership positions as President of Dior Homme, Chief Operating Officer at Christian Dior Couture, and CEO of Celine. His career also includes key managerial roles at Louis Vuitton and Sephora.

A graduate of École Polytechnique, École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, and Sciences Po Paris, Brunschwig is widely recognized for his strategic expertise and deep understanding of the luxury industry. His appointment underscores OTB Group’s commitment to accelerating the growth of its high-end fashion portfolio, which includes Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni, Viktor & Rolf, and Jil Sander.

In his dual role, Brunschwig is expected to focus both on the development of individual brands and on shaping OTB’s broader corporate strategy within an increasingly competitive luxury market. With the global luxury industry valued at over 345 billion euros in 2023 and projected to grow further, his leadership is set to play a key role in expanding OTB’s presence and influence.

Jil Sander, known for its minimalist and refined aesthetic, has experienced a resurgence in recent years. Under Brunschwig’s leadership, the brand is anticipated to further strengthen its international presence while maintaining its distinctive design identity.

This appointment aligns with OTB Group’s intensified focus on expansion, following substantial investments aimed at broadening its brand portfolio and enhancing digital and retail capabilities. As the company continues to evolve, Brunschwig’s expertise is expected to drive the next phase of its strategic growth.
