Cargus Appoints Belgin Bactali as New CEO, Succeeding Yannick Mooijman
Cargus, a prominent name in Romania’s courier industry, has appointed former Chief Financial Officer Belgin Bactali as its new CEO, with her tenure beginning on January 20. She takes over from Yannick Mooijman, who, according to the company, has chosen to step down to pursue new opportunities.
Bactali brings more than 23 years of experience in crafting successful financial strategies and spearheading key projects for well-established companies within the transportation and logistics sectors. Having held top executive board roles, she is recognized for her strong business acumen and leadership abilities, which have played a crucial role in enhancing operational performance and driving long-term organizational goals, as highlighted in the company’s official statement.
Cargus, with over three decades of experience, was Romania’s first established courier company. Currently, it employs more than 2,600 staff and collaborators, offering a broad spectrum of services, including home delivery and out-of-home solutions via its nationwide SHIP & GO network.
The company operates five national sorting centers, two gateway depots, and 36 warehouses across the country. Additionally, it manages a cross-border hub in Poland to support international courier operations.
Since 2019, Cargus has been under the ownership of Mid Europa Partners Investment Fund, one of Romania’s most active investors. In 2021, the company expanded its capabilities by acquiring QeOPS, a leading provider of e-fulfillment and customized logistics solutions.
