Leadership Change at Telenor Sweden: Bjørn Ivar Moen to Step Down
Bjørn Ivar Moen has announced that he will step down as CEO of Telenor Sweden at the end of the year. The company indicated that a new CEO will be appointed soon, with recruitment efforts already in progress.
Reflecting on his tenure, Moen acknowledged the past three years as a period marked by both challenges and achievements. He noted that while it was difficult to leave behind supportive colleagues and a workplace he enjoyed, he was also eager to return to Norway to be with family and friends and to explore new opportunities outside of Telenor.
Moen’s career at Telenor spans over two decades, during which he held multiple leadership roles. These include the CEO of Telenor Broadcast, the acting CEO of Telenor Norway, and the Chief Marketing Officer of Mobile and Business in Telenor Norway. He also led Allente as CEO following the merger of Viasat and Canal Digital. In late 2021, he took on the challenge of guiding Telenor Sweden’s transformation back to a path of growth.
Jon Omund Revhaug, acting EVP and Head of Nordics at Telenor Group, highlighted Moen’s impact during his time at Telenor Sweden. He credited Moen with spearheading a transformation that not only boosted growth but also significantly improved the company’s performance. Revhaug described Moen as a valued leader who inspired enthusiasm and drove change among the employees, noting that he would be greatly missed.
