Kambi Group plc’s Board has named Werner Becher as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 25, following the release of the company’s Q2 2024 report. Becher succeeds Kristian Nylén, bringing extensive experience in sports betting and technology sectors.
Upon joining Kambi, Becher will focus on sustaining the company’s success and enhancing its role as a leading sports betting partner. Kambi’s recent strategies include platform modularization, the development of its AI-pricing division Tzeract, and the acquisitions of Abios and Shape Games.
After a thorough search and selection process, Becher was chosen as the ideal candidate to lead Kambi’s next growth phase. His broad experience in both the B2B and B2C sectors and his technological expertise make him well-suited to advance Kambi’s strategic initiatives.
Becher’s career includes significant roles at Sportradar and Interwetten. At Sportradar, he began as Managing Director for the US Betting arm and later became CEO for the EMEA and LATAM divisions, contributing to the company’s successful Nasdaq IPO in September 2021. Before that, he served as CEO of Interwetten for eight years, leading it through a period of growth. Recently, Becher has been active as an independent investor and advisor.

Kristian Nylén, Kambi’s co-founder and CEO since 2010, announced his intention to step down in January. He joined Kambi’s Board of Directors in May and will support Becher during the transition. This leadership change is a pivotal moment for Kambi as it continues to innovate and expand within the iGaming industry.
